Just as the recent storm tore through the northwest the previous evening, City swept the visitors aside at the their home ground. It was a statement three goal win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that clearly signaled their title credentials as they reinforced their standing at the league summit.

Consecutive Losses for Manchester United

This scoreline marked consecutive Women's Super League defeats for the United manager's side for the first time since spring 2024, putting them a sizable gap off the league leaders with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.
